RARE COLLECTOR ALOCASIA CORM
Alocasia × amazonica Aurea Splash Corm
Dramatic pale veining and splashes of golden-yellow variegation over dark arrow-shaped foliage. One live propagation corm, not a mature plant.
Meet Amazonica Aurea Splash
Alocasia × amazonica is a horticultural hybrid commonly recognized for narrow arrowhead leaves with prominent pale veins and sculpted margins. The Aurea Splash trade name refers to irregular golden-yellow to lime variegation across the green blades. Leaf coloring and patterns may differ considerably as plants mature. The reference images are illustrative, not photographs of the individual corm shipped.
What you receive
One live corm for propagation. Size, rooting stage and visible growth points may vary. No mature plant is included.
How to Start Your Corm
Warm. Humid. Moist—not waterlogged.
Position the growth point upward and keep only the lower portion of the corm in contact with moisture. Avoid fully burying or submerging the corm.
Perlite+
Nestle the base in rinsed, damp perlite and keep it airy.
LECA+
Position above a shallow reservoir so moisture wicks upward.
Sphagnum Moss+
Use loosely packed, slightly damp moss with ventilation.
Fluval Stratum+
Set the base against lightly moist Stratum without deep burial.
Puddle Method+
Use a shallow layer of clean water with most of the corm above it.
Airy Aroid Mix+
Use chunky, free-draining substrate and keep the growth point exposed.
Care after sprouting
Light: bright, indirect light; protect pale variegated portions from strong sun. Water: maintain slightly moist but breathable root conditions. Humidity: tropical humidity with adequate airflow. Temperature: stable warmth and no cold drafts. Feeding: apply dilute fertilizer during established active growth.
Troubleshooting
Yellowing or soft corms can indicate stagnant moisture; assess firmness and ventilation. Browning on pale leaf tissue can be worsened by strong sun and environmental stress. Monitor new growth for mites and thrips.
