Collector Corm

Alocasia 'Bisma Platinum' Albo Corm

Grow a striking collector Alocasia from the beginning with a rare Bisma Platinum Albo corm.

1 Corm

This listing is for one live corm only—not the mature plant pictured.

Collector Alocasia

Bisma Platinum is prized for elegant, cool-toned foliage with a refined metallic appearance.

Albo

A variegated collector form known for white, cream, mint, silver-green and deep green combinations.

Why Collectors Love It

Metallic foliage with dramatic white variegation.

Alocasia 'Bisma Platinum' is admired for elongated foliage, cool silver-green tones and a sleek metallic look. The Albo form adds bright white, cream and pale mint variegation that can appear as broad sectors, marbling, mottling, splashes or irregular markings across the leaf.

Depending on the individual plant, future foliage may develop silver-green, deep green, brilliant white, cream, pale mint or mixed variegated patterns. No two corm-grown plants are expected to look exactly alike.

Possible Foliage Colors

  • Bright white
  • Cream or ivory
  • Pale mint green
  • Silver-green
  • Deep forest green
  • Sectoral or marbled variegation
  • Different patterns on each leaf

Important Variegation Disclosure

Variegation is naturally unpredictable.

This corm was produced by an Alocasia 'Bisma Platinum' Albo parent plant, but the color, pattern and amount of variegation in the resulting plant cannot be guaranteed.

The corm may produce strong white or cream variegation, balanced silver-green and variegated foliage, mint markings, low-variegation growth, or predominantly green leaves. Variegation can also change as the plant matures.

What You Will Receive

Corms naturally vary in size, shape, exterior texture and stage of growth. Your corm may arrive dormant, beginning to root, showing a visible growth point or already beginning to sprout.

How to Start Your Corm

Warm. Humid. Moist—not waterlogged.

Place the corm in a clean propagation container using a lightly moist medium. Position the pointed growth end upward and nestle the lower portion into the medium while leaving the growth point exposed or only lightly covered.

Perlite +

Best for easy moisture control and airflow.

Rinse the perlite first, then place it into a clean cup and moisten it thoroughly. Nestle only the lower portion of the corm into the perlite with the growth point facing upward. Keep the perlite damp rather than flooded. A clear cup makes it easy to watch new roots without disturbing the corm.

LECA +
LECA clay pebbles on black background

Great for semi-hydro propagation.

Rinse the LECA thoroughly and position the corm near the top of the clay pebbles. Keep a small water reservoir below the corm so moisture can wick upward while the corm itself stays above the standing water. As roots grow, they can gradually reach down toward the reservoir.

Sphagnum Moss +
Sphagnum moss on black background

Excellent for steady humidity around the corm.

Soak the moss, then squeeze out excess water until it feels damp but not dripping. Loosely place it around the lower part of the corm. Do not pack wet moss tightly around the whole corm—airflow is important. Check the corm periodically and keep the moss lightly moist.

Fluval Stratum +
Dark porous propagation substrate on black background

Useful when you want consistent moisture in a small propagation cup.

Place moist Stratum into a clean cup and set the corm with the pointed growth end upward. Keep the lower portion in contact with the substrate without burying the corm too deeply. Keep it moist, not saturated, and monitor the cup so the media does not remain stagnant.

Puddle Method +

Simple and easy to monitor.

Use only a very shallow amount of water at the bottom of a clean container. The base of the corm should have access to moisture while most of the corm and the growth point remain above the water. Keep the setup warm, refresh the water if it becomes cloudy, and never fully submerge the corm.

Airy Aroid Mix +
Airy aroid propagation mix with Alocasia corm

A good option if you want to avoid a later substrate change.

Use a light mix with plenty of air space, such as potting mix or coco coir combined with perlite, pumice, fine bark or similar amendments. Use a small container, leave the growth point exposed, and keep the mix lightly moist. Dense, waterlogged soil should be avoided while the corm is still establishing roots.

Environment

Best Sprouting Conditions

  • Warm temperatures
  • Elevated humidity
  • Bright indirect light
  • Lightly moist media
  • Clean conditions
  • Gentle airflow

Avoid Rot

Do not keep it saturated.

Excessive moisture and stagnant conditions can increase the risk of rot. Some corms sprout quickly while others remain dormant for several weeks or longer. A firm corm may simply need more time.

Care After Sprouting

Move up slowly once roots and leaves develop.

Once the corm develops healthy roots and begins producing leaves, gradually transition it into a chunky, well-draining aroid substrate.

Potting mix or coco coir
Perlite or pumice
Fine orchid bark
Horticultural charcoal

Keep the young plant in bright indirect light. White, cream and pale tissue can be more sensitive to harsh direct sun. Maintain light, consistent moisture without allowing the root zone to remain waterlogged.

Bisma Platinum Albo Color Notice

Color can shift as each leaf hardens.

New foliage may emerge with stronger white, cream, mint or silver coloration and shift slightly as the leaf matures. Other leaves may appear more silver-green, medium green or deep green.

The term Bisma Platinum Albo identifies the collector form and parent plant. It does not guarantee visible white variegation on every leaf or an exact match to the mature plant pictured.

Shipping & Live-Corm Notice

Every corm is living propagation material.

Your corm may arrive dormant, rooted or unrooted, beginning to sprout, showing a visible growth point, carrying dry outer layers or displaying minor natural discoloration.

Dry exterior material, small surface marks and natural differences in color or shape are not automatically signs of poor health. Open the package promptly and place the corm into appropriate propagation conditions.

What arrives: One live Alocasia corm unless the individual listing clearly states otherwise. Mature plant photos show the plant’s potential appearance as it grows.
What exactly am I buying?
A corm is the starter stage of the plant, not a mature plant. You receive the live corm described in the listing. Because these are living plants, corm size, sprouting speed, growth pattern, and mature appearance can naturally vary.
Why buy from AlocasiaCorms.com?
The website is new, but the seller experience behind it is established. We have been selling to plant collectors for 18 months, with a 4.9 out of 5 prior marketplace rating, 700+ customer reviews, and 7,000+ prior marketplace sales.
How is my corm packed?
Corms are carefully prepared and packed for shipment with the goal of protecting the live plant material while it travels to you.
What happens after it arrives?
Growing guidance is included so you have a clear starting point for sprouting and caring for your corm. You are not left guessing what to do next.
What about the mature plant photo?
For corm listings, mature leaf photos are there to show the variety and its potential appearance. The item being shipped is the corm described in the listing, not the mature plant shown for reference.
Can I ask a question before ordering?
Absolutely. Email alocasiacorms@gmail.com. We would rather answer a question before you order than have you purchase without feeling confident.
