Our Story
Rare plants shouldn’t require a rare-plant budget.
Alocasia Corms was built around one simple idea: help collectors get closer to their dream plant for less by starting at the very beginning — with the corm.
Shop the Collection
We work with growers and sourcing partners around the world, including China and Thailand.
Our goal is to make rare and hard-to-find Alocasias more attainable by offering them at the corm stage.
Corms are checked for condition, identified, labeled, and packed with live plant material in mind.
We’re building one of the largest dedicated Alocasia corm selections in the United States for serious collectors.
Why We Started
The dream plant should feel possible.
Rare Alocasias can become expensive fast once they are rooted, established, and showing mature foliage. We wanted to give collectors another path: start with the corm, spend less up front, and experience the entire transformation yourself.
That means the same excitement of adding a rare species, pink variegated form, jewel Alocasia, or hard-to-find collector plant — but at an earlier stage that can make the plant more accessible.
Our Mission
Get collectors their dream Alocasia for less.
We want a collector to see a plant they thought was out of reach and realize there is another way to grow it. Corms make that possible.
Global Sourcing
Alocasia comes from an extraordinary part of the world.
We source corms through international growers and partners, including China and Thailand, and continue expanding our sourcing network as we locate new species and collector forms.
The Alocasia genus itself is native across tropical and subtropical Asia into eastern Australia. Depending on the species, these plants originate from regions that include southern China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, the Philippines, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and parts of eastern Australia.
What We Look For
Every corm has to earn its place in the collection.
Clear Identification
We prioritize clearly identified species and collector forms so buyers know what they are growing.
Healthy Condition
Corms are checked for overall condition before packing and shipping.
Collector Appeal
We actively look for unusual species, variegated forms, jewel types, and plants collectors are actually hunting for.
Value
We want the price to make sense for the stage of the plant and give collectors a more affordable entry point.
Why Corms?
You get to grow the story yourself.
There is something different about watching an Alocasia go from a small corm to its first root, first growth point, first leaf, and eventually the mature plant you were hoping for. You are not just buying a plant — you are growing it from the beginning.
Careful Packing
Small package. Big potential.
Live plant material needs thoughtful handling. We pack corms with protection in mind, clearly label orders, and provide growing guidance so customers have a confident starting point when their package arrives.
