RARE AUREA ALOCASIA CORM

Alocasia Brancifolia Aurea Variegated Corm

A collector Alocasia with deeply divided, finger-like foliage and vibrant yellow-gold and green variegation. One live corm—not the mature plant shown.

One live corm

For propagation. No mature plant included.

Aurea variegation

Golden yellow and green marbling in illustrative mature leaves.

Brancifolia foliage

Highly dissected leaves with narrow elongated lobes.

What is Alocasia Brancifolia Aurea Variegated?

This horticultural variegated form is sought after for its narrow, deeply divided foliage, unlike the broader leaves of many Alocasias. Reference plants show patches and streaks of golden-yellow (aurea) and green across the leaf blade. This Aurea form is different from the white or cream variegation sold under the Albo name.

The appearance and proportion of variegation can differ from leaf to leaf; illustrative images are not photographs of the exact corm you receive and do not guarantee the future pattern.

How to Start Your Corm

Warm. Humid. Moist—not waterlogged.

Position the growth point upward and keep only the lower portion of the corm in contact with moisture. Avoid fully burying or submerging the corm.

Perlite +

Place the base in rinsed damp perlite; maintain moisture and airflow.

LECA +

Keep a shallow reservoir below the corm to wick moisture upward.

Sphagnum Moss +

Use airy moss, damp but squeezed of excess water.

Fluval Stratum +

Set the base into lightly moist Stratum without deep burial.

Puddle Method +

Use a very shallow pool of clean water with most of the corm above it.

Airy Aroid Mix +

Use a chunky, freely draining medium with the growth point exposed.

Growing conditions after sprouting

Light: bright indirect light; protect yellow leaf tissue from intense sun.

Water: maintain a draining, aerated root zone; avoid stagnant moisture.

Temperature: consistent tropical warmth, avoiding drafts.

Humidity: moderate-to-high humidity with airflow.

Feeding: dilute balanced fertilizer after healthy roots and active growth appear.

Common problems

Softening corms may indicate excessive moisture. Brown patches can result from direct sun or stress. Inspect new leaves for thrips and mites; avoid heavy feeding during early rooting.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive a mature plant?

No. You receive one live propagation corm.

Will every leaf be yellow?

No. Aurea variegation and its distribution can vary considerably.

Is Aurea the same as Albo?

No. Aurea generally describes yellow-gold tones; Albo describes pale white or cream coloration.

You are buying from an experienced Alocasia seller with an established customer history — the direct website is new, the plant-selling experience is not.

What arrives: One live Alocasia corm unless the individual listing clearly states otherwise. Mature plant photos show the plant’s potential appearance as it grows.
What exactly am I buying?
A corm is the starter stage of the plant, not a mature plant. You receive the live corm described in the listing. Because these are living plants, corm size, sprouting speed, growth pattern, and mature appearance can naturally vary.
Why buy from AlocasiaCorms.com?
The website is new, but the seller experience behind it is established. We have been selling to plant collectors for 18 months, with a 4.9 out of 5 prior marketplace rating, 700+ customer reviews, and 7,000+ prior marketplace sales.
How is my corm packed?
Corms are carefully prepared and packed for shipment with the goal of protecting the live plant material while it travels to you.
What happens after it arrives?
Growing guidance is included so you have a clear starting point for sprouting and caring for your corm. You are not left guessing what to do next.
What about the mature plant photo?
For corm listings, mature leaf photos are there to show the variety and its potential appearance. The item being shipped is the corm described in the listing, not the mature plant shown for reference.
Can I ask a question before ordering?
Absolutely. Email alocasiacorms@gmail.com. We would rather answer a question before you order than have you purchase without feeling confident.
